JJ asked for some binoculars, so I whipped up these up using a few toilet paper rolls, a hot glue gun and some kitchen twine. Took all of about 1 minute.
A great prop for pretending to be an explorer, a pirate or a perhaps spectator at the tennis.
Now (spoiler alert) they don’t have any actual magnification. But I noticed that removing peripheral vision encouraged JJ to focus on things that she would normally overlook. Sometimes she’d focus on something small, like the movements of tiny ants. Other times she’d hold the binoculars up to her eyes and go on explorer walks around the house, stopping to look at this and that as she went.
Lots of playful fun! Because #playmatters. 🙂
